This is a must-attend session for journalists who want to make sure they have options when their jobs are on the line.

BIOS:

Corie Brown is the co-founder and general manager of Zester Daily. A former editor and writer with the Los Angeles Times, she received the 2007 University of Missouri Lifestyle Award for her article about climate change and wine, A Scorching Future, and currently is writing a book on that subject. In 2006, she won both first and second prize for news reporting from the Association of Food Journalists. Corie recently was awarded a fellowship by the Foreign Press Center of Japan and will be working in Japan this spring. Previously, Corie was West Coast entertainment correspondent with Newsweek and a columnist with Premiere Magazine. On staff with BusinessWeek in Boston and with other McGraw-Hill publications in New York City and Washington, D.C., she has written about energy, the environment and healthcare.

Robin Rauzi is a versatile journalist with reporting and editing experience in the arts, travel and opinion writing. In the line of duty, she has chased tornadoes across the plains, hung upside-down from the upper limbs of trees and faced the wrath of filmmaker Michael Moore. After seven years as an LA Times feature writer and editor, she spent a year traveling Europe , then returned to the paper working in the travel section. She spent her final two years on the Op-Ed page, helping political figures, accomplished journalists and novice writers hone their arguments and polish their prose. She is the proprietor of Get Rauzi Editorial Services (www.getrauzi.com), and the managing editor for the food culture news site Zester Daily.
